Our Legal Practices
The contract is not a document that lives in splendid isolation, it is part of a broader regime of law and in that sense the contract must be reviewed and applied in that broader context, indeed there are options available to all that are governed by the applicable law that need not be set out in the contract and can have a major influence on the contract and its execution. In addition to the contractual issues, provision of effective legal consultation and information for our clients are other parts of our expertise. Also, disputes are a part of doing business; at Shaabani International Law Firm, resolving them or representing the client’s interests is of our core practices.
Legal counsel or legal advice
The assessment and application of principles of law to a particular factual situation is the main issue of this section which is provided for our clients. It involves the application of legal principles to facts in a manner that in effect predicts a specific resolution of a legal issue or directs, counsels, urges, or recommends a course of action by a disputant or disputants as a means of resolving legal issues.

Dispute Resolution
Alternative Dispute Resolution
Alternative dispute resolution (ADR) is one of Shaabani International Law Firm core practices. ADR mechanisms include several procedures that allow parties to resolve their disputes out of court in a private forum, with the assistance of a qualified neutral intermediary of their choice. Shaabani International Law Firm provides alternative dispute resolution solutions.
Our lawyers have a wealth of experience in the alternative dispute resolution field, whether in mediation, facilitation, case evaluation, and any other type of ADR. We understand disputes are a part of doing business, and happen no matter how hard a company may try to avoid them. And with it becoming standard to require ADR in business contracts, companies need lawyers who have been in the arena and understand how to devise successful strategies to resolve the dispute in their client’s favor.
ADR is preferred instead of the court system for several reasons, including confidentiality/no public record and reduced costs. We are active in all sides of ADR, including as mediators and facilitators. We understand the process, what works, and –perhaps most importantly – what doesn’t work.
Arbitration
Shaabani International Law Firm advises clients on all facets of the arbitral process. Our services include pre-arbitral steps such as assessment of the prospects of success of arbitration proceedings with careful cost-benefit analysis. In arbitration proceedings, Shaabani International Law Firm represents the client’s interests as counsel. The firm assists parties and law firms in the course of the entire arbitration or provides expertise for individual questions raised in arbitration proceedings. The firm’s legal services extend to arbitration-related litigation proceedings such as enforcement or annulment actions before state courts.
Shaabani International Law Firm partners also act as an arbitrator under institutional and ad hoc arbitration rules.
Litigation
Litigation is a very unfortunate fact of life. Despite the best intentions of the parties, some disputes simply cannot be resolved without the filing of a lawsuit as a last resort and putting the dispute in the hands of a judge. If clients are represented by Shaabani International Law Firm, we will make every reasonable effort to settle clients’ dispute on terms that are acceptable to them.
